Eighteen small bronze sculptures of a variety of animal skulls. Pictured above, clockwise from upper left: Pronghorn, Elk, Grizzly, Bison, Whitetail Deer, Bighorn Sheep, and Mule Deer.
As a former physical therapist, Pamela has had a lifetime interest in bones. In 1976 Pam was inspired by a fossilized bighorn sheep skull found in a cave, shown to her by a US Park Ranger. She began to create one skull per year until the collection of 18 was complete. Each of these miniatures was modeled after an actual animal skull.
Pam says, “The Bighorn Sheep is still my favorite but the Mule Deer runs a close second. I found the model for this one tangled in a bucket of barbed wire and an antique hide scale at an auction. The beautiful antlers came from a ranch in Hell’s Canyon, Idaho.”
The entire collection of 18 miniature skulls is shown in the photo below. See corresponding dimensions and prices in the list.
