Rock hunting is a great hobby in our part of the country where the treasured moss agates can be found. Summer, after the level of the water has receded, is the best time of year to find moss agates along the shores of the Yellowstone River. Our kids, the dog, and I have spent many days collecting these unique stones. Late afternoon is a great time to spot agates in the gravel in our driveway. They seem to glow with luminescence from the setting sun.
