Take a kid. Add a stick and a dog, and any game escalates to a whole new level. Our dog Cowboy loved to dig for gophers. Cheering and pointing a stick at the gopher hole egged him on to dig even faster. Funny, but we never did catch any gophers. I think the little varmints used their back doors to escape. This sculpture depicts a boy and his dog excavating one hole while the gopher, on the verge of escape, can be seen sticking his nose out of another hole on the back side.
