History relates that as far back as 1700s, monks kept cats in their monasteries to protect priceless documents from destruction by rats. Until it was disbanded in 1986, the centuries old Library Cat Society kept the tradition alive by supporting cats in libraries. This is the model for a 6’ tall whimsical tribute to the history of library cats, to be installed beside the Glendive Public Library in 2024.
