Face From the Shroud
Bronze sculpture of the face of Jesus from the Shroud of Turin
10 inches high $950
by Pamela Harr 1993
In 1993 before Harvey and I moved from Bozeman to Glendive, I was commissioned to sculpt a half life-sized bronze depicting Mary washing the feet of Christ. I used the face from the Shroud of Turin as a reference and prayerful interpretation. That sculpture is in the Sioux Falls Augustana College Liturgical Center. The buyer asked me to do just a bust from the sculpture for himself. Recently he contacted me to do another casting, the second in the edition of 50. I don’t know why I didn’t cast more at the time. I think life got in the way with our move to Glendive and adopting five children. I decided it was time to do a few more castings and I wanted to share this picture of the one I did today.
