“Remembering is a re-calibration of our lives,” as our pastor Dan Keegan liked to say. I had a red wagon when I was a kid and recalling all the good times playing games with it was a great inspiration for this sculpture. I learned that you can’t pull a wagon filled with water without getting wet. I never could get my cat to ride in it either.

When I heard that Glendive was building a new airport terminal, I jumped at the chance to make a life-size sculpture for the front of the building depicting a whimsical Radio Flyer adventure. That version includes additions such as cardboard wings and a tail on the wagon, and welding goggles and a flying scarf on the little boy. Here is the Radio Flyer at the Dawson Community Airport in Glendive, Montana on a cool, breezy day, and later in the year in a blizzard.
