“Remembering is a re-calibration of our lives” as our pastor Dan Keegan liked to say. I had a red wagon when I was a kid and recalling all the good times playing games with it was a great inspiration for the sculpture. I learned you can’t pull one filled with water without getting wet. I never could get my cat to ride in it either.
When I heard that Glendive was building a new airport terminal, I jumped at the chance to make this theme life-size in front of the building. I made some changes like adding cardboard wings and a tail to the wagon and giving the boy welders goggles and a flying scarf.
